People with food allergy need medical and dietary advice even if past symptoms have been mild. In some cases, mild symptoms can be followed by more severe ones at a later date. A GP’s referral to an allergy specialist is vital. In addition, the following contacts may be invaluable.
The Anaphylaxis Campaign
This is a national charity that focuses on severe allergy. Helpline staff will offer informed guidance and be able to help determine whether apparently mild cases need special attention. Members receive magazines and product alerts and have the opportunity to join support networks.
